What Life Skills ICASS covers
Life Skills and Computer Literacy is a fundamental subject with seven formal ICASS tasks across the year. It blends written tasks with practical and computer-based work, ending in the internal trial. Because the subject mixes theory and practical application, your ICASS mark rewards consistent effort across very different kinds of tasks rather than cramming for one big test.
The 40% sub-minimum
Life Skills, Computer Literacy and the First Additional Languages share a 40% ICASS sub-minimum. You must reach 40% in both your ICASS and the external exam to be fully resulted. Many students treat Life Skills as an easy subject and then lose their qualification on a technicality keep every task and keep your Portfolio of Evidence complete.
Tips for a strong mark
Submit every practical and computer task on time, since these are often quick marks that lift your average. Keep printouts and signed task sheets for your PoE Computer Literacy evidence in particular must be printable for moderation. And do not ignore the trial: as the heaviest task, it can rescue or sink an otherwise average ICASS mark.
