Why ICASSLab exists

Every year, capable TVET students lose their place in the final exam not because they could not do the work, but because they did not realise how close they were to a sub-minimum until it was too late. ICASS is powerful but it is poorly explained, and the official guidelines are long and technical. ICASSLab turns those rules into something you can actually use: simple calculators and plain-English explanations that show you where you stand in minutes.

What you can do here

Use the general calculator or a subject calculator for Maths, Life Skills or Languages to estimate your ICASS percentage and see if you qualify. Read the full ICASS guide to understand the system, browse the FAQ for quick answers, or follow the blog for study tips and explainers.

Trust and accuracy

ICASSLab is an independent helper tool. It is not run by any college or by the Department of Higher Education and Training. Our calculators and guides are based on the official DHET NC(V) ICASS guidelines, but task weightings can vary by subject and college. If there is ever a difference between what you see here and your college system, your college system is the authoritative source always confirm with your lecturer.
